I think my posting frenzy comes when I have an attack just around the corner. And I've been quiet for the past few weeks. Yey! That's means I'm ok.
Well, not really. As I mentioned in a past post, my uric acid level actually went up to 8.5 (from 8.26) during my last test. Oh well. So although I have no actual attack, there's still potential damage to my organs. So I still need to work on that. The last development is that I moved up my allopurinol daily intake from 100 MG to 300 MG. Not that I've been taking it everyday. I think medicine only works if you actually use it. ;-) I ran out of 300 MGs now so I think I'll finish my 100 MG stock first before buying. For newbie "gouters", you take allopurinol to lower the uric acid level in your body.
I also read that there are studies that showed that high doses of vitamin C can also decrease the incidence of gout. For the past three weeks or so, I've been taking mega doses of vitamin C. I think I take about 3-4 500 MG pills per day to help with my condition, but also because the pills I have are nice and chewable. It's like eating candy. I love it.
As for my banana intake, it's been down. That's a bad sign since it's my main source of potassium, which in turn helps liquefy uric acid crystals in my body. What's a nice way of eating bananas? Shake? Banana-Q? Turon? Hmmmm
So that's it for now. Just checking in and letting you guys know I'm back to skipping dinner. I've registered under 170 pounds again since my food intake lowered significantly after the holidays. Is Project 160 back? I'll let you know soon.
Now, does anyone know where to get lots of cherries in Manila?

Yay!
ReplyDeleteChoco-banana crepe is yummy, but that wouldn't be good for your Project 160.
Yeah, that's really nice. I'd like it with mangoes too. That should be good for potassium and about 5000 calories!
ReplyDeleteso how did your heart check up go?
ReplyDeleteThe pain I felt was actually just muscular. Slightly high blood pressure but I'll live for a few more days.
ReplyDeleteI fixed the spelling error, I guess I have fat fingers. Glad to hear that your heart is OK.
ReplyDeleteFor now. Maybe I should create a cholesterol blog too. It seems like another long journey.
